WHO Tube V2
A structured workflow for the WHO tube test, linked to your laboratory records: observation capture, quality control, the registered correction pathway and interpretation.
Available- Insecticide-impregnated paper
- Control paper
Conceptual illustration: adult mosquitoes in tubes lined with insecticide-impregnated or control paper. It is not a technical drawing of WHO equipment.
About the method
The WHO tube test is a direct response-to-exposure bioassay in which adult mosquitoes are exposed to a known concentration of insecticide and mortality is recorded after a holding period.
VectorBio keeps the test identity, laboratory context, control and treatment observations, quality-control state and result together in one record.
How it works in VectorBio
Set the context
Select the sample or colony/strain the test belongs to, optionally its project, and record the experiment date.
Enter observations
Record control and treatment observations for each replicate.
Analyze
VectorBio evaluates the registered control-mortality conditions and computes the result.
Review
Check the QC state, any correction applied and the interpretation, where QC permits it.
Save
Store an immutable record, reopen it from history and export it.
What the result shows
- Quality-control state of the test
- Whether the registered correction pathway was applied
- Mortality used for interpretation
- Interpretation, such as susceptible, possible resistance or confirmed resistance, when QC permits it
- Follow-up guidance where the method calls for it
Scope
- Interpretation is withheld when quality control does not permit it.
- Rules for WHO Tube are registered for this method only and are not inherited by other methods.
What a saved result looks like
The structure of a saved result in the VectorBio application. Field names are taken from the released interface; values appear only in your own Workspace.
